Dr. Dionysia-Theodora Avgerinopoulou, President of the Committee for the Protection of the Environment and Water Resources of the Hellenic Parliament and Greek Prime Minister’s Envoy for the Ocean, had the pleasure of participating in the highly significant international event “Panama: A Strategic Hub to the World of Maritime Services”, organized by the Embassy and the General Consulate of the Republic of Panama in Greece, under the distinguished presence of the Ambassador and General Consul, Mrs. Julie Lymberopulos Karnakis.
She expressed her warmest thanks to the Embassy and the General Consulate of Panama for the honorary invitation and their warm hospitality. Greece and Panama are linked through a deep and multifaceted cooperation in shipping, based on shared principles, mutual trust, and the strategic role of both countries in international maritime trade.
Panama constitutes a global hub of maritime services, while Greece, which holds the world’s largest commercial fleet, has long relied on this strategic connectivity to promote safe, sustainable, and efficient maritime transport. Dr. Avgerinopoulou highlighted that cooperation continues to be strengthened in key areas such as maritime infrastructure, the green transition, maritime safety, and international ocean governance.
